- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup strawberry jam
- 2 tablespoons freeze-dried strawberry powder
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Warm the milk until just lukewarm, then stir in the yeast and granulated sugar. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix the yeast mixture with the eggs, melted butter, salt, and flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, strawberry jam, and freeze-dried strawberry powder until spreadable.
- Roll the dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 9 to 10 rolls.
- Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise again for 30 to 45 minutes until puffy.
- Bake at 350°F for 22 to 27 minutes, until lightly golden and cooked through.
- Whisk the powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a little extra strawberry powder if desired into a smooth glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and serve.
