A rich and hearty pasta dish featuring wide ribbons of pappardelle pasta coated in a savory Bolognese sauce.

- 12 ounces Pappardelle pasta
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil (for sautéing)
- 1 medium Onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 pound Ground beef
- 1 pound Ground pork
- 1 can Crushed tomatoes (28 ounces)
- 1 cup Red wine
- 1 tablespoon Dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon Salt (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper (to taste)
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated, for serving)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add ground beef and ground pork, cook until browned.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, red wine, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add pappardelle pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the pasta and reserve some pasta water.
- Toss the cooked pasta with the Bolognese sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve desired consistency.
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
