Description

A rich and hearty pasta dish featuring wide ribbons of pappardelle pasta coated in a savory Bolognese sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Pappardelle pasta
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil (for sautéing)
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 1 can Crushed tomatoes (28 ounces)
  • 1 cup Red wine
  • 1 tablespoon Dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Salt (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
  2. Add ground beef and ground pork, cook until browned.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, red wine, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  4. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add pappardelle pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  5. Drain the pasta and reserve some pasta water.
  6. Toss the cooked pasta with the Bolognese sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve desired consistency.
  7. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
