Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat and cook the chopped onion until soft and translucent.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for about one minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, mixing well to coat the meat.
  5. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and kidney beans, then stir until everything is well combined.
  6. Reduce heat to low and let the chili simmer for 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed before serving warm.
