Description
Heart accents for cupcakes are a simple yet impactful way to add a personal touch to your baked goods. Made with candy melts, these decorative hearts are easy to make and are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- Red Candy Melts
- Pink Candy Melts
- Piping Bag
- Parchment Paper
- Painter’s Tape (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the red and pink candy melts separately in the microwave at 50% power, heating in 30-second intervals until fully melted.
- Place the piping bag into a drinking glass and fill it with the melted red candy melts. Cut off the tip of the bag to allow the melted candy to flow freely.
- Lay a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet and tape it down with painter’s tape to prevent it from moving.
- Use the piping bag to draw heart shapes on the parchment paper.
- For two-tone hearts, let the first layer of candy melts set for about 10 minutes. Then, pipe the pink candy melts around the first heart, creating a second, larger heart.
- Allow the hearts to set for 10–15 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate them to speed up the process.
- Once set, carefully peel the hearts off the parchment paper and place them on top of your cupcakes.
