A simple and flavorful grilled tofu recipe featuring a savory-sweet marinade with soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, and smoked paprika. Perfect for a vegan barbecue or quick protein-packed dinner.

- 400g firm tofu
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: A squeeze of lime or lemon
- Optional: Chili flakes
Instructions
- Drain your tofu for 15 minutes.
- Slice the tofu into about 1/2-inch slabs.
- Mix the marinade: soy sauce, oil, syrup, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a bowl.
- Lay tofu pieces in a dish or zip-top bag and pour marinade over them. Toss gently and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high and brush grates with oil.
- Place tofu slabs on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes until grill marks appear. Flip and grill the other side for about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove tofu and let it rest for a minute. Squeeze lime or lemon over the top or add chili flakes.

- Overnight marinating enhances flavor.
- Use a grill pan or George Foreman if needed.
