Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons gelatin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (optional)
  • Chocolate for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the hulled and sliced strawberries with the sugar. Blend until smooth, creating a vibrant strawberry puree.
  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the water and allow it to sit until it becomes spongy, about 5 minutes.
  3. Heat the gelatin mixture in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds until dissolved, and mix this into the strawberry puree.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the strawberry mixture into the whipped cream until uniform. If using yogurt, fold it in now.
  6. Pour the mousse into dome-shaped molds and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until fully set.
  7. Carefully remove the mousse from the molds, garnish with chocolate if desired, and serve.
