Biscuits and Gravy Casserole is a comforting and hearty dish that combines fluffy biscuits with creamy sausage gravy, all baked together for a delicious breakfast or brunch option. This casserole is easy to prepare and perfect for feeding a crowd.
Ingredients
- 1 can (16.5 ounces) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through in a large skillet.
- Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage, stir, and gradually add milk until the mixture thickens.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Remove from heat.
- Cut each biscuit into quarters. Arrange half of the biscuit pieces in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Pour half of the sausage gravy over the biscuit pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until well beaten and pour over the biscuit and gravy layer.
- Add the remaining biscuit pieces on top, followed by the rest of the sausage gravy.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the eggs are set.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve warm.
