- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter, blending it well with the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
