This classic vanilla pound cake is buttery, golden, and comes together with simple ingredients in just one bowl.

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup whole milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
- Stir in milk until batter is smooth.
- Pour into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
