- 1 whole grain English muffin or sandwich thin
- 1 turkey sausage patty
- 1 large egg
- 1 slice cheddar, Swiss, or pepper jack cheese
- 1 tsp butter or olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: Spinach, tomato slices, avocado, or a light spread of hot sauce.
Instructions
- Toast the English muffin until golden and crisp.
- Cook turkey sausage patty in a skillet over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter or olive oil. Cook egg to your preference (fried, over-easy, or scrambled). Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Place cheese on the hot sausage or egg to allow it to melt slightly.
- Assemble sandwich: bottom muffin half, sausage patty, egg with melted cheese, and any optional toppings. Add the top half and serve warm.
