  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup brandy

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the orange juice and brandy.
  6. Fold in the mixed dried fruits and chopped nuts.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
  8. Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
