Ingredients

- For the Filling:
- 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped (plus extra for topping)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prepare the Pie Crust: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add chilled butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water until dough forms. Form into a disk, wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll Out the Pie Crust: On a floured surface, roll dough to fit a 9-inch pie pan. Transfer dough to the pan, trim excess, and crimp edges.
- Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, whisk corn syrup, sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
- Assemble the Pie: Pour the chocolate pecan filling into the prepared crust. Garnish with extra pecans if desired.
