Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia, cut into strips)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1/2 cup honey (plus extra for glaze)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- salt and pepper (to taste)
- oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 lemon zest and juice (from 1 lemon)
- 1 orange zest and juice (from 1 orange)
- 1 tsp honey (for dip)
- salt and pepper (for dip) (to taste)
Instructions
- Cut the fish fillets into 1-inch-wide strips. Set up three bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge each fish strip in flour, dip in egg, and coat in breadcrumbs. Set aside until all are prepared.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the fish strips in small batches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- For the dip, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon zest and juice, orange zest and juice, and honey. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Drizzle fried fish strips with warm honey for extra sweetness. Serve immediately with the citrus cream dip on the side.
