Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients and pre-measure them for a smooth process.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray. Alternatively, line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil or melted butter, and eggs until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Fold in the chopped pecans evenly into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
