Description
Strawberry cinnamon rolls combine soft baked dough with sweet strawberries and a touch of spice for a delightful breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- All purpose flour 4 cups
- Warm milk 1 cup
- Active dry yeast 2 ¼ tsp
- Sugar ½ cup
- Unsalted butter ½ cup
- Eggs 2 large
- Salt 1 tsp
- Fresh strawberries (chopped) 1 ½ cups
- Ground cinnamon 2 tbsp
- Cream cheese (for glaze) 4 oz
- Powdered sugar 1 cup
- Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Instructions
- Warm milk and stir in yeast and a spoonful of sugar. Let rest for 10 minutes until bubbly.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs. Stir until dough forms.
- Knead dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Chop strawberries and mix with cinnamon and a spoonful of sugar.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over dough.
- Sprinkle strawberry cinnamon mixture evenly across.
- Roll dough tightly into a log and slice into 1.5-inch thick pieces.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space. Cover and let rise for 30-40 minutes until puffy.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare glaze by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over slightly cooled rolls and serve warm.

- For a richer treat, add white chocolate chips to the filling.
- Lemon zest in the glaze adds a refreshing citrus note.
- Frozen strawberries can be used; thaw and drain well.
- Reduce sugar for a lighter version.
