Description

Easy and cheesy Spiderweb Pizza Bites are a fun, festive Halloween snack. These mini pizzas feature a spooky spiderweb design made from string cheese and topped with black olive spiders, perfect for parties and kids.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dough sheet
  • 1/3 cup smooth pizza sauce
  • 1 cup string mozzarella, pulled into thin strands
  • 1/4 cup large black olives, halved for bodies and sliced for legs
  • Optional: Shredded mozzarella for base sprinkle
  • Optional: Garlic powder or garlic butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350–400°F (175–200°C) depending on your chosen base.
  2. If using crescent dough, seal perforations and cut 2–3 inch rounds. Place rounds on a baking sheet.
  3. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each round.
  4. Arrange mozzarella strands in a starburst pattern originating from the center, then add two concentric rings to create a web.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes for crescent rounds, or until cheese is melted and edges are golden. Adjust time for other bases like crackers or pitas.
  6. While the web bakes, prepare the olive spiders: use olive halves for bodies and heads, and slice thin strips for legs.
  7. Remove bites from the oven and place one olive body and head on each. Add 6–8 leg slices to each body.
  8. Return the Spiderweb Pizza Bites to the oven for 2–3 minutes to set the design.
  9. Let rest for 2 minutes before serving hot.

Notes

  • For a full pizza base, par-bake first, then add the web and spiders and finish for 2–3 minutes.
  • Keep sauce thin to prevent the web from bleeding.
  • For parties, bake in batches and hold at 200°F (95°C) for up to 15 minutes.
