Instructions
- Sauté the vegetables: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, carrot, and celery, and sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Brown the meat: Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- Create the sauce: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef broth. Season with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook the spaghetti: While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Combine and serve: Once the sauce has thickened and the flavors have melded, toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce until well coated. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
