- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

- Pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream 1/4 cup softened butter and 1/3 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy (1–2 minutes).
- Add 1 egg yolk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- Scoop dough into 1-inch balls, roll in granulated sugar, and place on baking sheet 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges are set and centers still look slightly underbaked.
- Let cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
