- 1 cup Butter
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 1/4 cups Flour
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add in the flour and salt, mixing until the dough just comes together.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions, shape each into a log, and wrap them tightly in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Take the dough out of the fridge and slice it into ¼-inch thick rounds. Optionally, shape the dough into hearts before slicing.
- Place the slices on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
