Description

Shepherd’s Pie Skillet brings rich, savory beef and vegetables topped with creamy mashed potatoes into one easy recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground lamb for a traditional version)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 3 cups prepared mashed potatoes (fresh or store-bought)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional topping)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large oven-safe skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire, broth, peas and carrots, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  3. Spoon mashed potatoes over the beef mixture and smooth into an even layer. Sprinkle with cheddar if using.
  4. For a golden top, broil for 2–3 minutes until lightly browned and bubbly.
  5. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
