  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Creole seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Let the butter melt and foam without browning.
  3. Add minced garlic and stir constantly for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes without moving, then flip and cook another 2 minutes until pink and opaque.
  5. Sprinkle Creole seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper over the shrimp. Stir to coat evenly.
  6. Add Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and remaining 1 tablespoon butter. Stir and let the sauce thicken slightly for 1-2 minutes. Adjust salt and spice as needed.
  7. Turn off heat and sprinkle chopped parsley over the top. Serve immediately over rice, grits, or crusty bread.
