Description

A hearty and satisfying Sausage and Egg Breakfast Pizza recipe perfect for brunch or a special weekend breakfast. Features a crispy crust with savory sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Pizza Crust:
  • 1 pre-made pizza crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
  • For the Toppings:
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (bulk or casings removed)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place the pizza crust on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Brush the crust lightly with olive oil.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. In the same skillet, cook the egg mixture over medium heat, stirring gently until scrambled and just set. Remove from heat.
  5. Evenly spread the cooked sausage over the pizza crust. Spoon the scrambled eggs over the sausage. Sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes. If desired, sprinkle with chopped green onions. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use turkey or chicken sausage for a lower-fat option.
  • Substitute a whole wheat or cauliflower crust for added nutrition.
  • Add more vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra flavor and fiber.
  • Serve with a fresh fruit salad or mixed greens.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
  • Ensure sausage is fully cooked. Avoid too many toppings to prevent a soggy crust.
  • Make sure oven is fully preheated for a crispy crust.
