Decadent Red Velvet Cookie Cups: A Perfect Valentine’s Day Treat


Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (150g) light brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1⅓ cups (170g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (20g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Candy hearts

Instructions

  1. Preheat to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 12-cup muffin pan.
  2. Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in egg, vanilla, milk, and red food coloring.
  4. Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
  6. Divide dough into muffin cups and press to form wells.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes. Press centers again while warm.
  8. Let cool completely before removing from pan.
  9. Beat cream cheese and butter, then add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  10. Pipe frosting into cookie cups and add toppings if desired.
