Description

This Raspberry Danish recipe combines fresh raspberries, sweetened cream cheese, and flaky puff pastry for a delicious breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed (8.8 ounces)
  • 5 ounces fresh raspberries
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ½ ounces powdered sugar, plus extra for garnish
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Flour (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Defrost puff pastry dough in the refrigerator. Roll it out on a floured surface to about 10.5 inches square.
  2. In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Cut the dough into 9 squares (3.5 inches each). Place a dollop of cream cheese mixture in the center of each square.
  4. Top each pastry square with 4-5 raspberries.
  5. Fold the corners of each square over the filling and seal by brushing with egg wash and pressing the edges together.
  6. Place the assembled pastries on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the pastries for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
