Description
This Peppermint Mocha Mousse recipe combines bold flavors of coffee and dark chocolate with refreshing peppermint.
Ingredients

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 oz dark chocolate (60% cocoa or higher)
- 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 egg whites (optional, for extra fluffiness)
- Crushed peppermint candies or chocolate shavings, for topping
Instructions
- Break the dark chocolate into pieces and melt using a double boiler or microwave in short bursts. Stir in the espresso powder and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Stir the peppermint extract into the cooled chocolate. Gently fold this into the whipped cream until well combined.
- If using, beat the egg whites in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form. Fold them into the mousse mixture for a lighter texture.
- Spoon or pipe the mousse into serving cups or jars. Chill for at least 2 hours.
- Before serving, top with crushed peppermint candies or chocolate shavings and an optional dollop of whipped cream.
