- 3 to 4 ripe but firm pears
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup pecans, toasted
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- In an oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in maple syrup and brown sugar until bubbly and smooth.
- Let the mixture cook for 2 to 3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Scatter the toasted pecans evenly into the skillet.
- Slice pears and arrange them in a circular pattern over the pecans.
- Lightly roll out the puff pastry to fit the skillet, then place it over the pears.
- Tuck in the edges of the pastry and cut a few small slits on top.
- Bake at 375°F for 30 to 35 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Let rest for 5 minutes, then carefully invert the tart onto a plate.
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
