Irresistible Party Franks in Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce
Ingredients

- 3/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons ground mustard
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- 2–1/2 to 3 pounds miniature hot dogs or smoked sausage links
- 1 large lemon, sliced
Instructions
- Sauté the onion in canola oil over medium heat until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in ketchup, water, cider vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, ground mustard, paprika, salt, pepper, and hot pepper sauce.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Arrange the mini hot dogs in your slow cooker and pour the sauce over them.
- Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 4 to 6 hours.
- Serve the Party Franks with lemon slices.
