Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder: For flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper: To taste
  • 1 package (8 oz) phyllo dough: Thawed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted): For brushing
  • 1/2 cup honey: The base of the sauce
  • 12 teaspoons chili flakes: Adjust to taste for spice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice: For brightness

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese, ricotta cheese, dried oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy.
  3. Prepare Phyllo Sheets: Unroll the phyllo dough and cover it with a damp kitchen towel to prevent it from drying out.
  4. Layer the Dough: Take one sheet of phyllo dough and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush with more butter. Repeat this process for 3-4 layers.
  5. Add Filling: Cut the layered phyllo dough into strips (about 4 inches wide). Place a tablespoon of the feta filling at one end of each strip.
  6. Roll: Fold the sides of the phyllo over the filling and roll it up tightly to form a log. Place the seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush with Butter: Brush the tops of the rolls with additional melted butter.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Mix Chili Honey: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the honey, chili flakes, and lemon juice. Stir until warmed and well combined. Remove from heat.
