Description
Mini chai muffins with vanilla bean glaze are bite-sized treats infused with cozy chai spices like cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom. Topped with a smooth, sweet vanilla glaze, they’re perfect for brunch, snacks, or tea time.

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp ground cardamom
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup buttermilk or plain yogurt
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or ½ tsp vanilla bean paste
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla bean paste or 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line or grease a mini muffin pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg, buttermilk or yogurt, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined (don’t overmix).
- Fill muffin cups about ⅔ full.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While muffins cool, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over fully cooled muffins and let it set before serving.
Notes
- These muffins are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
