Description

A colorful and refreshing fruit salad bursting with vibrant Mexican flavors. This Mexican fruit salad combines sweet fruits with a zesty lime and chili dressing for a delightful taste experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Watermelon, cubed
  • 1 cup Pineapple, cubed
  • 1 cup Mango, cubed
  • 1 cup Papaya, cubed
  • 1 cup Cucumber, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Tajín seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Honey (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish
  • Optional: chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel all fruits. Cut watermelon, pineapple, mango, and papaya into bite-sized cubes. Slice the cucumber into thin half moons.
  2. Place all the chopped fruit and cucumber into a large mixing bowl. Toss gently to combine without mushing the pieces.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the fresh lime juice, chili powder, Tajín seasoning, and honey (if using) until well blended.
  4. Pour the dressing over the fruit mixture. Toss gently until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Taste the Mexican fruit salad and adjust seasoning with more lime juice, chili powder, or honey as needed.
  6. Transfer the salad to a serving bowl. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and optional chopped cilantro.
  7. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least twenty minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to cool.
  8. Just before serving, give the salad a light toss to redistribute the dressing and refresh the texture.
  9. Serve this delicious Mexican fruit salad cold, with tortilla chips or alongside grilled dishes. Offer extra lime or Tajín for guests to add to their taste.

Notes

  • Adding jicama brings a crunchy texture.
  • Grapes and strawberries can add color and variety.
  • For a richer taste, sprinkle crumbled cotija cheese.
  • For more heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • For a dairy-free option, mix in coconut flakes.
  • This Mexican fruit salad works well as a side dish, dessert, or snack.
