  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Bell Pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) Kidney Beans
  • 1 can (15 oz) Black Beans
  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up into crumbles with a wooden spoon.
  2. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the pot. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables soften.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Let the spices cook for about 1 minute to release their flavors.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes and both kidney and black beans. Stir everything together until well combined.
  5. Bring the chili to a simmer, reduce the heat to low, and cover. Let it cook for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Taste the chili and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
