These super cute melted snowman cookies are made by drizzling drop sugar cookies with icing and decorating them with marshmallows and candies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled (345 grams))
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch or cornflour (6 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened (226 grams; sticks))
  • 1 ⅓ cups granulated sugar (270 grams)
  • 1 large egg (at room temperature)
  • 1 large egg yolk (at room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (360 grams)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk (plus more as needed (45 to 60 ml))
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
  • black and orange gel food coloring
  • Marshmallows
  • Mini M&M’s
  • Airheads extremes or Twizzler’s pull & peel candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Line three large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat butter and granulated sugar for 1 to 2 minutes until combined.
  4. Mix in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Scoop cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each scoop. Flatten each ball slightly.
  7. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Let cool on sheets for 5 to 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. To make icing, whisk powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, corn syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Mix in additional milk until icing reaches a medium consistency.
  10. Divide some white icing into two bowls, color one with black gel and the other with orange gel. Cover until ready to use.
  11. Scoop white icing on each cookie, spreading it to look messy. Place a marshmallow for the head and add mini M&M’s for buttons.
  12. Pipe black icing for arms and dots for eyes. Use orange icing for the nose.
  13. Let icing harden completely, preferably overnight.
  14. Create scarves with cut airhead extremes or pull ‘n peel Twizzlers.
  15. Serve and enjoy or store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
