- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup maraschino cherries drained chopped and patted dry
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Drain maraschino cherries well, chop into small pieces, and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a large bowl beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- In another bowl whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until combined.
- Fold in chopped cherries and chocolate chips evenly.
- Scoop dough onto lined baking sheet spacing cookies apart.
- Bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes then transfer to rack to cool completely.
