Description
Enjoy the refreshing and comforting taste of Mango Oatmeal Crumble Bars, a delicious, guilt-free dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups ripe mangoes (peeled and diced)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (for sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (to brighten flavor)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (to thicken filling)
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats (for texture)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (for tenderness)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for sweetness)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (to balance flavor)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for a warm spice)
Instructions
- Prepare the Mango Filling: Peel and dice the ripe mangoes into small chunks. In a medium bowl, toss the mango with brown sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch until evenly coated. Set aside to let the flavors meld while you work on the crumble.
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s ready to bake your delicious bars.
- Mix the Crumble Topping: In a large bowl, combine oats, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Melt the unsalted butter and pour it over the mixture. Using a fork or your fingers, mix until crumbly.
- Assemble the Bars: Press half of the crumble mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking pan. Pour the mango filling over the top and spread evenly. Finish by sprinkling the remaining crumble over the mango filling.
- Bake to Perfection: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
