Description
This Mango Curd Tart features a buttery crisp tart shell filled with smooth, vibrant mango curd. It’s a refreshing tropical dessert perfect for summer gatherings or special occasions.

- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1–2 tbsp cold water (if needed)
- 1 cup mango puree (fresh or canned)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Add egg yolk and mix until dough forms. Add cold water if needed.
- Press dough into a 9-inch tart pan. Prick bottom with a fork.
- Bake 15–18 minutes until lightly golden. Cool completely.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk mango puree, sugar, eggs, egg yolks, and citrus juice.
- Cook while stirring constantly until mixture thickens (about 5–8 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in butter until smooth.
- Strain curd if desired for extra smoothness.
- Pour mango curd into cooled tart shell and refrigerate at least 2 hours until set.
- Garnish with fresh mango slices or whipped cream before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh mango for the best flavor.
- Ensure the tart shell is completely cooled before adding the curd.
- Can be made a day in advance.
