Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries and set aside a portion for later to add texture to the sauce.
  2. Combine cranberries, sugar, water, and zest in a medium saucepan. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Cook the mixture over medium heat, allowing the cranberries to soften and burst, creating a ruby-red sauce.
  4. After 8-10 minutes of simmering, taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.
  5. Add the reserved whole cranberries to the sauce for added texture and freshness.
