Crispy fries topped with cheese sauce, bacon, and ranch, these Loaded French Fries are an irresistible appetizer or snack to share with friends.


Ingredients

  • 32 ounces frozen French fries
  • ½ cup bacon, crispy and crumbled
  • ⅓ cup green onion, chopped
  • homemade or store bought ranch sauce, for drizzling and dipping
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Follow the package instructions for the 32 ounces frozen French fries and bake as directed until crispy.
  2. While that is baking, make the cheese sauce and prepare the other toppings, like chopping the bacon and green onion.
  3. Once the fries are baked, assemble the loaded fries while they’re still hot.
  4. Top them with hot cheese sauce as desired, reserving some for dipping.
  5. Sprinkle on the bacon and green onions, then drizzle with ranch sauce.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve warm.
  7. In a small saucepan, whisk together milk, cornstarch, kosher salt, and dry mustard.
  8. Bring to a simmer on medium-low, stirring frequently, for 5-6 minutes until thickened.
  9. Reduce heat to low and add shredded cheddar cheese gradually, stirring until melted.
