Ingredients

  • Fresh Asparagus
  • Beef Bacon
  • Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
  • Sea Salt
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder (optional)
  • Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • Fresh Lemon Juice (optional)
  • Nutritional Yeast (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash the asparagus and snap off the tough, woody ends, then arrange them in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil or avocado oil over the asparagus, then sprinkle with sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder if using. Toss to coat.
  4. Lay the slices of beef bacon on top of the asparagus in a single layer, or cut into smaller pieces and scatter them among the spears.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-18 minutes, until the asparagus is tender-crisp and the beef bacon is golden brown and crispy. Broil for an extra minute if you want the bacon crispier.
  6. Serve immediately, optionally squeezing fresh lemon juice over the top.
