- 2 large russet potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Soak potato sticks in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry.
- Cut cheese into small pieces that fit inside the potato sticks.
- Prepare three bowls: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- Insert cheese into each potato stick, coat in flour, dip in egg, and finally roll in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat and fry sticks until golden brown (about 4-5 minutes). Drain on paper towels before serving.
