- 2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
- 2 to 3 tbsp milk
- Nonpareil sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, mix together the flour and baking powder. Set aside.
- Cream the Butter and Add Wet Ingredients: Using an electric mixer, beat the butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, sugar, and almond extract, mixing until well combined.
- Combine and Chill the Dough: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined. Chill dough in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
- Shape and Bake the Cookies: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough and roll into balls. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until set. Cool completely before icing.
- Prepare the Icing: In a bowl, sift the powdered sugar and add milk one tablespoon at a time until the icing reaches a thick consistency. Stir in almond extract.
- Glaze and Decorate: Once cookies are cooled, dip each into the glaze, then place them on a cooling rack. Sprinkle with nonpareil sprinkles before the glaze sets.
