Description

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Make a well in the center and add the buttermilk and egg (if using).
  4. Mix until a dough forms, then turn onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  5. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet.
  6. Cut a cross on the top of the loaf.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
