Description
This easy hot dog chili is thick, flavorful, and perfect for piling onto classic chili dogs.
Ingredients

- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion (diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 ½ tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1–2 teaspoons white sugar (or to taste)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, sauté the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, garlic powder, cayenne, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the chili to a boil. Once it starts bubbling, turn the heat down and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until it thickens.
- Spoon the chili over hot dogs and serve.

- Great for busy weeknights, cookouts, or game day.
- Adjust the sugar to taste for sweetness.
