Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb turkey or chicken sausage (uncooked links or precooked)
- 3 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 small red onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Dice sweet potatoes into 1-inch cubes. Slice the red onion. Cut sausages if they are too long.
- In a large bowl, toss the sweet potatoes and onions with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
- Nestle the sausage pieces throughout the vegetables on the sheet pan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and smoked paprika (if using) to create the honey garlic sauce.
- Drizzle half of the honey garlic sauce over the sausage and vegetables on the baking sheet.
- Roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping the contents once halfway through, until the sausage is browned and the sweet potatoes are fork-tender.
- Remove the pan from the oven and drizzle the remaining honey garlic sauce over everything. Gently toss to coat.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Dice sweet potatoes to a uniform size for even cooking.
- Avoid overcrowding the pan; use two baking sheets if necessary.
- Flipping the ingredients halfway through roasting ensures even browning and caramelization.
- If using precooked sausage, add it during the last 15 minutes of baking to prevent it from drying out.
- Using fresh garlic enhances the flavor of the honey garlic sauce.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 350°F for best texture.
- Consider adding extra vegetables like bell peppers or Brussels sprouts, or swapping proteins for variations.
