Description

This Hibiscus Cookie Glaze with Candied Hibiscus Flowers offers a vibrant, flavorful treat that complements any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Hibiscus Syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Dried Hibiscus Flowers
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1/4 cup cold water with white sugar. Whisk until melted over medium heat, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the dried hibiscus and whole allspice. Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes, then cover and let it steep off the heat for 20-30 minutes.
  3. Once infused, let the syrup cool down for a bit. Strain out the solids to leave behind a beautiful, vibrant syrup.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of your hibiscus syrup, and heavy cream. Mix until smooth.
  5. Preheat your oven to 250°F. Spread reserved dried hibiscus flowers on a baking sheet and toast for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Once your cookies have cooled, generously coat them with the hibiscus glaze and sprinkle the candied hibiscus on top.
