- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Roll tablespoons of dough into balls and place on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 9–10 minutes, until set.
- Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
