Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Melt the butter and mix in the Guinness stout until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes, then poke holes in the cake every couple of inches.
  8. In a saucepan over low heat, combine heavy cream and semi-sweet chocolate, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  9. Pour the warm chocolate glaze over the poked cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
  10. Let the cake cool completely before slicing.
