  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 clove garlic (minced, optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F).
  2. Trim the woody ends from the asparagus by snapping or cutting off about 1–2 inches from the bottom.
  3. Place the asparagus on a large tray. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and minced garlic if using.
  4. Place the asparagus perpendicular to the grill grates or in a grill basket. Grill for 6–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender-crisp with light char marks.
  5. Remove from the grill and immediately sprinkle with lemon zest and drizzle with fresh lemon juice.
  6. Top with crumbled feta cheese and red pepper flakes if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
