- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Whole wheat burger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Red onion slices
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well until all ingredients are combined. Adjust seasoning to taste. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, feta cheese, red onion, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix gently until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Alternatively, you can grill the burgers.
- Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns if desired.
- Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a chicken patty, tomato slices, and red onion slices.
- Top with a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce and place the top half of the bun on each burger.
- Serve the Greek chicken burgers immediately, with extra tzatziki sauce on the side if desired.
Notes
- Use whole wheat breadcrumbs for a healthier option.
- Adjust seasoning in tzatziki to your preference.
- Grilling adds a smoky flavor to the burgers.
