Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline or sharp knife.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish, pour half of the cream mixture over them, then sprinkle half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and top with extra cheese.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
