- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 cup whole milk (or dairy alternative)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel sauce)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (warmed)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, ground ginger, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, and milk until well blended. Pour into dry ingredients and stir until just moistened.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly. Poke holes all over the surface using a wooden spoon handle.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt granulated sugar until amber-colored; remove from heat.
- Slowly whisk in warmed cream until smooth. Drizzle generously over the cake while still warm.
